Job Description:

At GDIT, individuals are the key. As a VMWare Systems Administrator Senior, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the safety and intelligence of operations. This role involves supporting NETCOM's Global Enterprise Fabric (GEF) worldwide platform.

HOW A SR. VMWARE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Administer enterprise VMware-based virtualization infrastructures including vCenter ESXi environments version 6.0 and above.
Install, configure, and integrate servers related to a VMware virtual infrastructure.
Monitor, perform backups, troubleshoot, and resolve issues for servers tied to a VMware virtual infrastructure.
Follow STIG and patch procedures to upkeep the system.
Develop and execute test plans in line with design requirements.
Formulate implementation plans, back-out procedures, and success criteria, coordinating system integration.
Analyze network traffic flow and infrastructure capacity for GEF platform integration.
Design, plan, implement, and oversee vSphere, vRealize Operations (vRO), vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Business (vRB).
Support various services such as NetOps, Data Center, networking, cybersecurity, and more.
Provide guidance to junior staff and oversee incident management processes.
Build server clusters and virtual networks within a vSphere environment.
Assist in hardware maintenance, upgrades, and replacements supporting virtualization infrastructure.
Offer advice, training to end-users, and contribute to special projects as needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies, evaluate vendor products, and support shift work if required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, plus 3+ yrs relevant experience

● Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II AND Computing environment certification in VMware or similar technology within 6 months of hire

● Required Technical Skills: VMWare, Cisco Flexpod, Network Attached Storage systems

● Security Clearance Level: Active Secret security clearance

● Required Skills and Abilities: leadership, troubleshooting

● Location: On Customer Site, Ft. Huachuca
