    SCOPE OF POSITION
    The Manager, Retail Pharmacy oversees the planning, organization, enforcement of policies and procedures for pharmaceutical care. The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for strategic planning in support of the Ballad Health Mission and Vision. The Manager will direct pharmacist and pharmacy technicians in providing patient care as it relates to medication use.

    The Manager is expected to comply with the management philosophy which includes being accountable to the customer, fiscally responsible, and focused on improving performance outcomes, as well as the desire to provide excellent customer service is required.

    This individual is accountable for maintaining technical expertise and development of leadership skills through ongoing education.

    The individual is responsible for the development and maintenance of budgetary goals for the department, directs and coordinates the training, development, hiring, termination, evaluation, and scheduling of team members.

    The Manager will serve as the liaison between pharmacy service, medical staff, nursing staff, and other ancillary departments to facilitate performance improvement in medication use.

    The Manager will support patient care and monitoring at order entry, via clinical services, and by participation on multidisciplinary teams.

    In addition, the Manager will support safe and efficacious use of medications, and procuring, distributing, and storing of medication appropriately while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

    This individual will prepare medication for various routes of administration, prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded products, and assist in selection of medication therapy.

    The Manager will supply medication information and education for physicians, patient care personnel, and patients. The manager will promote cost-effective medication therapy. In addition, the Manager will report and review of adverse drug events (including adverse drug reactions and medication errors).

    The Manager will assist with development and maintenance of medication-related policies and procedures and a medication formulary as a function of the multidisciplinary Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Graduate of a Pharmacist program accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education. Minimum two years of community pharmacy practice as a manager preferred. Must possess an understanding of current pharmacy practice standards in the ambulatory care setting.
    Valid and active Pharmacist license in appropriate state
    CPR required
