Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace Test SystemsRequirements & Responsibilities:
BSME required.
US Citizenship Required to meet ITAR Regulations.
Upon suitable offer, must pass Aerospace industry background check, and drug testing.
8+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience in SOLIDWORKS
.
Proficiency in design
to follow Statement of Work (SOW), select materials and design test system.
Contact vendors and acquire pricing and timeline.
Design test systems incorporating plumbing diagrams, valves, detailed schematics, mechanical interface, locations for pressure transducers, temperature sensors, speed pickups, flow meters and various materials.
Mechanical Design, Testing, Calibration & Documentation
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer designs and supports overall mechanical design with accuracy such that holes and dimensions are properly fabricated, keeping in mind purged enclosures and chosen materials.
Creates:
Design of panel and rack to hold components.
Detailed plumbing diagrams including list of item numbers for Bill of Materials (BOM).
Detailed schematics, including interconnection of mechanical parts, pipes, valves, chillers, tanks, heaters, and systems.
Design of test system with installation mindset and use of flowmeter software.
Documented calibration procedures and changes, including photos and Visio diagrams, for internal and external customers.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, and documents customer products (ours or other suppliers), for issues related to software, components power, systems, or operator error.
This is an on-site position in Enfield, CT, with the expectation of occasional travel (15% travel domestically and internationally) for installation and training on test systems.
