Job summary
The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Aide - Evidence in the Police Department.Under general supervision, performs as coordinator and liaison with Evidence Technicians and other Police personnel in all functions relating to evidence security storage packaging court presentations release and/or disposal of evidence or property in accordance with all applicable laws and Departmental policies procedures.
This position includes coordinating managing organizing performing necessary evidence/property control functions logging recording computerized data entry bar-coding generating maintaining various reports on evidence/property stored within Police Department custody storage dispensing disposing releasing property appropriately legally storing properly maintaining evidence/property facilities researching old case files microfilm computerized records reports contacts/interacts other agencies facilitating disposal evidence transports property between utilized facilities required necessary support agencies Crime Labs Post Office etc audits inventory items stored within Police Department facilities assists coordinates Evidence Technicians police officers any function relating to evidence/property testifies court frequently possible assists investigative proceedings relating to evidence its storage utilizes safe methods handling storage disposal hazardous materials cleans disinfects storage facilities maintains adequate supplies materials equipment facilitate related duties Evidence Division displays extensive knowledge adheres to
Departmental rules regulations related federal state local laws performs other duties reasonably required scope above.
