Job summary
Under general supervision performs basic nursing procedures on patients. Assists physicians or practitioners with examinations procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.Responsibilities
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives Quality Assessment program and safety environmental and infection control standards. Performs basic nursing procedures such as measuring patient height and weight according to oncology best practice taking vital signs and completing ambulatory intake Performs venipunctures and injections as indicated and allowed by scope of practice Interviews retrieves initial basic evaluation of patient inputs information into EMR reports to appropriate practitioner Maintains a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients families during visit demonstrates sensitivity to patients comfort privacy using AIDET fundamentals of communication Assists physicians or practitioners with examinations procedures other processes related to direct patient care Ensures adequate stock supplies necessary equipment Monitors ensures accuracy recording on patients medical records Maintains all required reports statistics etc Assists with medical record requests scanning documentation into medical record Inspects area daily for compliance policies regulations standards takes corrective action when appropriate Assists cleaning re-stocking examination rooms daily Transports instruments sterile processing assigned Supports through assistance note prep verbal order entry prescription refill management Competent at reception role includes professional scripting answering calls appropriate documentation message pools real-time scheduling rescheduling appointments Demonstrates competence performing critical skills include appropriate delivery care age-specific needs population served Enhances professional growth development participation educational programs current literature in-service meetings workshops Cooperates personnel achieve department objectives maintains good employee relations interdepartmental objectives infection control policies Attends meetings required Works positive attitude supports positive work environment teammates exhibits initiative progress care success department Promotes relationships co-workers Follows policies procedure safety standards Completes education assignments annually Works toward achieving goals participates quality improvement initiatives requested Performs duties assigned.Job description
