    Description

    New York Children's Medical Provider Services (NYCMPS), the NY based physician group associated with Connecticut Children's, is seeking multiple BC/ BE pediatricians to fill immediate openings for a new expansion within our academic pediatric hospitalist network.

    The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is expanding care for the community in our close-to-home strategy, and creating tremendous growth and opportunity for career advancement, including leadership opportunities.

    The primary unit is located in eastern New York, in conjunction with our care alliance partnership with Vassar Brothers.

    Pediatric Hospitalists in this location will provide inpatient and observation care to hospitalized children, well newborns, as well as provide ED consultation to a busy community hospital Emergency Department.

    The model will expand to including resident education, working with family practice residents on their pediatric rotations.

    Our Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine currently consists of faculty members nationally recognized for their clinical, quality, patient safety, and epidemiologic accomplishments.

    Many current group members hold leadership positions within medical education, quality improvement, administration, and research.     New York Children's Medical Provider Services provides a salary range to comply with New York laws on salary transparency in job advertisements.

    Assess, evaluate, diagnose and treat well newborns and pediatric observation patients and inpatients on the pediatric inpatient unit, as well as provide consultative services in the Emergency Department.

    Work collaboratively with Primary Care Providers to ensure safe patient handoffs

    Analyze medical histories, diagnostic lab test and x-ray results, clinical examinations and perform physical examinations in formulating a diagnosis, plan of care and documenting in conformity with applicable professional standards, third party payer requirements and the Division's policies and procedures.

    Refers each patient to other physicians, including specialists and other health care providers, whenever the patient's condition as necessary.

    Keeps and maintains accurate, complete, appropriate, timely and legible medical records relating to all professional services provided.
    Reviews on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention.
    Consults with Medical Director and other medical professionals as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
    Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital.
    Participate in teaching and learning in an integrated academic model.
    Practice preventive health care through patient and family education and child health advocacy.
    Academic/scholarly work and division citizenship as per division chief.
    Assists in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients.
    No direct reports but may oversee Fellows, Residents, Medical Students and Advanced Practice Providers (APRNs & PAs).
    Board eligible or certified in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine
