    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a talented and highly motivated Structural Revit Specialist for immediate employment supporting our Dams and Mining departments. The Structural BIM Specialist will work with project teams and Structural Engineers and has the responsibility of coordinating the process of generating and managing digital models. Active engagement and support of our collaborative and iterative design process is essential, along with the desire to seek innovative design solutions while providing unique perspectives on the built environment.

    The candidate will support team members in developing knowledge and skills related to Revit/BIM best practices and applying them to projects. Support project teams to develop and utilize BIM Execution Plans. Work with internal technical practice group to identify, test and suggest ways for us to better leverage BIM technology. Interface with partner subconsultants to support shared use of BIM models. Manage, monitor, and audit project model(s) to ensure compliance with AECOM and client standards. Promote effective use of BIM technology through clash detection and similar tools to improve deliverable quality and interdisciplinary coordination. Use BIM to develop structural design and construction drawings under the guidance of project teams.

    The successful candidate will be proactive with strong verbal, organizational and technical skills to effectively coordinate engineering design teams and professionals.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide structural design and detailed BIM models for RCC and concrete arch dams, hydraulic structures including spillways, stilling basins, intake towers, and outlet works. Most tasks are reinforced concrete elements.
    • Provide structural design and detailed BIM models for mining projects and industrial process facilities including, jacking header and tower design, large pump stations various process facilities. Most tasks are steel framing and support elements.
    • Provide structural design and detailed BIM models for building structures in water and wastewater systems, including facility buildings, tanks and foundations.
    • Highly proficient in Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, etc.
    • Knowledge of concrete structures and rebar/structural steel.
    • Dynamo experience a plus.
    • Develop contract documents through all phases of design.
    • Prepare engineering plans, elevations, sections, details, and specifications.
    • Coordinate quality control reviews of contract documents prior to issuance to client.
    • Coordinate and attend design reviews with clients, project managers, and project teams.
    • Will independently complete complex technical tasks within the constraints of approved timelines and budgets.
    • May assist in the training and professional development of other BIM Specialists.
    • Assist BIM Manager with content creation and standard enforcement.
    • Perform QA/QC checks on discipline models.
    • Familiar with design parameters related to discipline specific requirements.
    • Adhere to the project BIM Execution Plan (including defined project standards).
    • Develop BIM content based on BIM Modelling standards.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualification

    • BA/BS and 6 years of relevant experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficient with these software programs Revit, BIM360, Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, and Navisworks.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.
    • Some experience with these software programs a plus: Civil3d, Bluebeam, Rhino and Infraworks
    • Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and engaging in the design process
    • Enjoy mentoring and teaching a team with various levels of experience
    • Proven prior experience with large & complex project delivery using Revit
    • Technical skills related to planning, process and structural detailing
    • Experience coordinating work with a variety of disciplines: civil, landscape, and MEP
    • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
    • Excellent communication skills with peers, clients and contractors

    Additional Information

    Compensation

    • The offered rate of compensation (Utah locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The target salary range for this position is USD $85,000-$110,000.
