The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and storm water, reducing air noise hazardous materials pollution.The selected candidate will support project team in preparation negotiation processing appropriate modifications consultant contract scope cost schedule successful project completion serve design construction support staff ensuring Environmental Health Safety incorporated throughout project lifecycle develop focus client service operating bureaus implementation all project delivery procedures coordination BEDC support groups Project Controls group Schedule Cost Permit Resource group etc.
The position requires excellent oral written communication skills ability meet deadlines ability flexible assignment work responsibilities The selected candidate may required work extended days time perform fieldwork may involve standing walking uneven surfaces steep slopes stairs weather conditions This position requires operation motor vehicle site visits equipment testing inspections attend meetings project stakeholders
- Robust knowledge wastewater treatment systems equipment
- Knowledge understanding codes standards design guidelines applicable wastewater treatment facilities
- Ability read understand engineering reports specifications drawings
