    TITLE: Sr. Application Developer

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    The City of Phoenix, Aviation Department (Aviation) is seeking a Senior Application Developer to augment the Technology division's Business Applications and GIS team. This position will be designing, developing, and implementing creative solutions for passengers and internal customers at PHX Sky Harbor International Airport.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    The ideal candidate would be a passionate, and curious problem solver with experience using the Microsoft stack and Azure cloud platform to solve complex business problems. A qualified candidate will have advanced knowledge of C# and .NET and ample experience leading software development projects. Good communication skills, work ethic, and the ability to participate in all aspects of the agile software development life cycle.

    This position will be part of a team that develops, supports, and maintains a suite of applications that encompass the Aviation's software ecosystem. We utilize Azure cloud for dev, test, and production infrastructure and Azure DevOps for our development. Candidate will help the team understand, plan, execute, test, and deploy user stories from our product backlog. We typically operate with 2 weeks sprints and regularly need to collaborate to be able to complete an effort. Primary duties of this position are to support and extend existing .NET applications, gather requirements and propose development timelines. The candidate should have a strong understanding of DevOps principles and be familiar with PowerApps, Azure Integration Services, Azure API Management, and comfortable working in Azure cloud environment.

    EXPERTISE WITH THE FOLLOWING TECHNOLOGIES (REQUIRED):

    • 5+ years of .NET experience developing web applications and client/server applications. Hands on experience with C#, .NET, Web forms, Windows Applications, MVC, Web Services, WCF, APIs, Entity Framework.
    • 3+ years of experience utilizing databases as backend (MS SQL Server exp. preferred).
    • Proven experience with front end technologies such as Angular or React
    • Proven experience in unit testing and debugging.
    • Proven experience using version control such as GIT and strong understanding of SDLC methodologies such as SCRUM and Agile.
    • Proven experience using JavaScript frameworks, HTML5 and CSS3.
    • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Proven experience in interpreting business and user requirements and providing IT solutions
    • Proven ability to analyze dependencies of the current business processes within a business unit or project areas.
    • Proven ability to design, define, and adhere to excellent customer support processes.
    • Proven ability to focus on customer needs and deliver results.
    • Strong desire to learn new technologies and be adaptive to new tools.
    • Ability to work in a hybrid telecommute position requiring in-office 3 days a week.
    DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: N/A
    • 2+ years of experience working with Azure Integration Services and Azure API Management
    • 2+ years of experience working with Azure PaaS (App Services, Azure SQL, etc..).
    • 3+ years of working in Azure DevOps environment for CI/CD.
    • 3+ years of experience working with PowerApps.
    • Experience in .NET Core.
    • Strong knowledge of Azure cloud environments and network topology.
    • Microsoft Certifications.
    WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
    Not much physical work is required.
