- Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of manufacturing production planning, materials requirements planning, capacity requirements, inventory control and purchasing business functions.
- Convert and communicate demand requirements for products and services into detailed plans and schedules for customer responsiveness and inventory attainment.
- Understand standard enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) systems and take ownership of material resource planning (MRP) data input.
- Responsible for materials systems management and dissemination of production scheduling data to ensure the effective execution of daily manufacturing plans.
- Incorporate methods and techniques involved in lean and Just-in-Time (JIT) management.
- Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through the application of change management and best practices.
- Ensure collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments/plants including sales, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and management.
- Forecast, plan, and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Keeps up with demand, forecasts other company needs, and ensures the company is ready to ship product at all times. Makes sure that each day's scheduled run of items occurs without incident.
- Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system.
- Analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements and makes suggestions to optimize efficiencies.
- Manages stock finished goods inventory levels and schedules availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. Conducts periodic checks of inventory and replenishes as required.
- Completes delivery date input during sale order reviews. Answers termination or cancellation requests from sales.
- Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using the material requirement planning report.
- Updating and maintaining ERP system, by posting work-in-process, completed by wire production.
- Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
- Analyze and resolve scheduling issues that would cause production delays.
- Collaborate with purchasing to ensure timely material availability, and anticipate delays.
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and business practices to include industry standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO requirements, health and safety.
