Geisinger is proud to offer a Surgical Technologist a $7500 hiring incentive for eligible candidates,a$25.00 starting salary with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse.
This position requires assisting surgeons with procedures related to patient care during surgical intervention,supporting the coordination of treatments with other disciplines providing basic patient assistance connecting patients to clinical equipment practicing aseptic techniques verifying counts maintaining accurate supply accounts disposing of linens needles and sharps assessing wounds applying or changing sterile dressings maintaining universal precautions initiating emergency procedures participating in admission discharge process performing billing quality control monitoring additional duties including specimen collection pleure-vac traction set up patient transport post-mortem care assuring all medications solutions are labeled under registered nurse supervision.
