SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center is seeking a progressive and experienced Director of Nursing, Women and Babies. This position will have oversight of the hospital's Family Birthing Unit which includes four delivery rooms, two antepartum rooms, 10 postpartum rooms, and two operating rooms, one of which is specially equipped for all care that could be needed for obstetrics patients. The experienced nursing team can tend to babies with additional needs in the special care nursery. The Labor and Delivery Suite features spacious, private rooms. This is a wonderful opportunity for an innovative leader who is seeking an opportunity to grow and develop. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Nursing, Women and Babies will provide overall leadership, daily management, and direction for the service line including but not limited to providing strategic direction and leadership for staffing systems and strategy within the department. Serves as a resource to manage daily operations of clinical staffing with the expectation of long-term financial savings through enhanced utilization, scheduling, and deployment of staff. Provides coordination of staff services across the organization with the intent of creating improved responsiveness to patient needs. Provide overall strategic project management, facilitation, and ongoing maintenance of a centralized staff scheduling/deployment system utilizing a software platform to manage staff.
The Director of Nursing, Women's Services will collaborate with the leadership of Penn State Health multidisciplinary teams to facilitate an excellent patient experience and to systematically improve assessment, quality, and patient experience. The individual selected for this critical role regularly interacts with the senior leadership of Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, as well as colleagues throughout the Penn State Health System.
