- Under the general supervision of the Food Service Manager, helps with preparation, cooking, serving of a variety of foods in quantity, helps maintain and clean of all serving equipment and the kitchen; helps inventory equipment and food supplies on hand.
- Conform to School, food and nutrition and health department policies.
- Ability to learn and understand the regulatory requirements of the National School Lunch and Breakfast program.
- Obtain a valid Food Handlers Card.
- Have the ability to perform vigorous physical work and to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Operate various types of commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, choppers, steam tables, ovens, etc. As needed.
- Wash dishes, pots and pans, equipment's, kitchen utensils, and work area cleanup
- Set-up and cleanup food serving lines, food bars, etc.
- Transport food to another locations and organize food distribution
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, school staff and students.
- Ability to be flexible
- Have excellent customer service
- Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Experience and training through a responsible position in a food service program to demonstrate
- Experience in institutional, restaurant or school kitchen environment
