    Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

    Preferred Qualifications Position Summary

    Research technician's main duties will include studying age-related immunity and wound response in plants. The employee will conduct experiments. These experiments include planting seeds, monitor gene expression, quantify plant growth, extract DNA etc. The position also involves data analysis. All data should be properly stored and kept before processing.

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks.
    • Ability to supervise and communicate with students.

    • Minimal lifting/bending in the normal operations of a typical office/lab environment.

    • Conduct experiments and analyze data in studying age-related immunity and wound response in plants.

    • Assist in lab maintaining lab hygiene and train students on basic lab skills.
