    Description

    Summary

    The Sourcing & Supply Manager I is responsible for overseeing contract management, program management, operational spend analysis, and contract negotiation. This role reports to the Category Manager, focusing on a specific area of responsibility or group.

    Essential Functions

    • Contract Management
      • Develop and manage a contract portfolio including business reviews, supplier performance management, and contract renewal activities
      • Understand and assess industry trends, manage supplier performance, and ensure contract compliance
      • Interface with stakeholders to monitor supplier performance and contract adherence
    • Program Management
      • Develop internal and external relationships
      • Communicate program status to Ryder management and internal customers
      • Track and report monthly savings, contract compliance, and performance
      • Prepare monthly summary performance reports
      • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliers
    • Operational Spend Analysis
      • Identify sourcing projects with stakeholders to reduce operational expenses
      • Conduct quantitative analysis and market research
      • Communicate new opportunities and trends
    • Conduct Sourcing Projects
      • Lead cross-functional sourcing projects within Ryder teams
      • Design flexible RFPs for customized service demands
      • Evaluate supplier changes and leverage opportunities
    • Explore alternative supplier options
    • Contract Negotiation
      • Support contract negotiations with key suppliers
      • Develop new programs based on purchasing strategy and customer needs
      • Negotiate pricing and performance measures with stakeholders
    • Communications
      • Proactively address and resolve issues with end-users
      • Devote time to selling ideas internally and negotiating with external suppliers

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Perform any other assigned duties

    Skills and Abilities

    • Advanced Level Skills in MS Excel, Word, and Power Point
    • Basic level skills in MS Access
    • Strong understanding of business needs and ability to build user trust

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or Finance required
    • Master's degree preferred
    • Three (3) or more years of experience in Purchasing
    • Experience in legal aspects of contracts
    • Strategic Sourcing and/or IT experience highly desired
    • Experience with Procurement and e-sourcing preferred

    Travel: 20-30%
