- Doctorate in reading/literacy from an accredited university
- Experience as a reading or literacy specialist in a PK-12 school
- Record of successful undergraduate teaching
- Experience with accreditation
- Knowledge of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading
- Ability and inclination to use data for continuous improvement
- Experience developing curricula

Job Description
Job DescriptionTrinity Washington University, a comprehensive institution in the nation's capital, seeks a creative and collaborative faculty member in literacy within the School of Education to begin in Fall 2024. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Education, the successful candidate will teach and oversee courses in literacy, contribute to program growth and development as well as continued program approval and accreditation.
This position will be especially appealing to candidates with a commitment to social justice, as the Trinity School of Education both provides supportive pathways to careers in education for students who might otherwise not have had such opportunities, and centers curriculum around educational equity. The position also offers substantial prospects for innovation and leadership.
This is a non-tenure track 12-month appointment, annually renewable.
