Job Summary
This is a key role within the Research and Development Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for being a subject matter expert in data management and applying automation principles to data analysis.
Specifically, the candidate will contribute to the application of automation solutions for the development, analysis, archiving, and retrieval of data for flow cytometry antibody reagents.
This individual will work cross-functionally in the business and often guide interactions with the internal customer base.This position requires the ability to understand user requirements and to lead the implementation and communication of sustainable solutions to improve processes as they relate to data analysis, data interpretation, and data curation.
Duties And ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with internal software developers and internal IT to develop and maintain data analysis and data management solutions
Interact with scientists to translate business needs into transformative tools
Collaborate with liquid handling automation colleagues to develop and implement end to end solutions for data acquisition, storage, and analysis
Create and maintain user interface modules to allow for navigation and execution of complex analyses by end users
Use and develop APIs to integrate scientific data from multiple sources
Perform and document data analysis, data verification, data mapping/ design, and software version control
Complete structural box testing to identify bugs, initiate troubleshooting, and release minor updates
Day-to-day problem solving and multi-functional team-based activities to ensure that daily operations and timelines are met
Engage end-users and document feedback on data product user experience
Knowledge And Skills
Ability to program independently in languages such as R or Python (R preferred)
Familiar with JavaScript and React
Familiar with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure
Technical competency to perform analytics:
data extraction, data cleaning, and data visualization
Ability to manage and connect diverse and complex data sources
Understanding of statistics, modeling, and significance testing
Experience in contributing to the delivery of new software products or solutions from concept phase through to development, implementation, and maintenance
Self-motivated with effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Flexible teammate with good communication skills, ability to manage multiple collaborators, and experience working multi-functionally
Ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
Knowledge of basic scientific principles in biology and chemistry and/or experience working closely with scientists on data analysis or data pipeline projects (Familiarity with flow cytometry principles preferred)
Education And Experience
A Bachelor's or Master of Science degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical subject area and a minimum of 6 years of proven experience required.
