    Job Description:
    We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our team at Topeka VA Health System.

    As a Biomedical Equipment Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and safety of essential medical equipment to uphold the highest standards of patient care.

    Your role will involve a diverse range of tasks, from preventive and corrective maintenance to equipment installations and software repairs, all aimed at maintaining optimal functionality and enhancing patient well-being.

    Responsibilities:
    • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on a diverse range of medical equipment.
    • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain medical device security protocols.
    • Provide technical support and training to medical staff on the proper operation and handling of medical equipment.
    Requirements:
    • A two-year associate degree in an applied science or equivalent military training.
    • Demonstrated competency in performing operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various medical equipment.
    • Understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements, industry regulatory requirements, and International Standard Organization standards.
    • Familiarity with the setup and application of test equipment.
    • At least three years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Federal Public Trust clearance is required.
