- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate students' speech and language skills, including articulation, fluency, voice, and receptive and expressive language abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies to address students' communication goals and objectives, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques
- Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, targeting areas of need such as articulation, phonology, language comprehension, pragmatic skills, and social communication
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate speech and language goals into students' academic curriculum and daily routines
- Monitor students' progress and adjust intervention plans as needed, while maintaining accurate documentation of assessment results, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant data
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and other collaborative processes to develop and implement appropriate supports and accommodations for students with communication needs
- Stay informed about current research, best practices, and trends in the field of speech-language pathology, and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Rhode Island state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience working as an SLP in a school setting or with pediatric populations
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to cultural competence and providing equitable services to students from diverse backgrounds
