    Chemical Process Engineer (Full-Time) – Design Focus

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with a strong background in process design and project execution. This role involves developing complete process designs, including P&IDs, equipment selection, vendor coordination, and supporting installation and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have approximately 9+ years of experience, allowing them to contribute technically while also mentoring junior engineers.

    Experience in LNG, propane, oil & gas, or broader chemical processing industries is required.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Lead and execute process design activities for LNG, propane, and natural gas processing facilities.
    • Define process requirements in collaboration with Project Managers, cross-functional engineering teams, and client representatives.
    • Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
    • Perform process modeling and engineering calculations to properly design and size process systems and equipment.
    • Size, specify, and select major process equipment; obtain and evaluate vendor quotations.
    • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers throughout design and fabrication to ensure compliance with specifications; attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies.
    • Develop and/or support documentation including Sequences of Operation (SOO), alarm lists, and interlock narratives for controls programming and system validation.
    • Support field installation, startup, and commissioning efforts, including development of commissioning plans and operating procedures.
    • Conduct system checkout and performance testing to verify operational compliance.
    • Troubleshoot and optimize existing operating facilities, including support for plant expansions or modifications.
    • Deliver training sessions for client operations personnel.
    • Travel domestically (approximately 20%), including extended 1–2-month assignments during major installation and commissioning phases.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required)
    • (Mechanical Engineering may also be considered depending on experience.)
    • Professional Engineer (PE), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.

    Experience

    • 9+ years of process engineering experience preferred.
    • Strong background in LNG, propane, oil & gas, or related chemical processing industries.
    • Hands-on experience with startup and commissioning activities.
    • Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers is desirable.

    Technical Skills

    • Strong understanding of process design principles and equipment selection.
    • Proficiency in process modeling software (preferred but not mandatory).
    • Experience developing PFDs and P&IDs.
    • No specific CAD platform is required; overall process design expertise is prioritized.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    Travel Requirements

    • Approximately 20% domestic travel.

    Extended on-site assignments (1–2 months) may be required during installation and commissioning phases.
