Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of Level 1 Trauma and IR/Neuro IR experience to join a high-volume, academic medical center team.
ResponsibilitiesAcademic Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center settingDepartment has 10 interventional radiology rooms handling 46-50 cases per dayPatient population includes stroke, complex neuro, cancer, tumors, blocked vessels, and body interventionsNeuro cases include stroke, ruptures, subdural fistulas and other complex proceduresOncology services include liver and other cancer cases, as well as abscess drains2 IR technologists per room for each procedureUtilizes Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging technology, as well as GE ultrasoundUses Epic Encompass EMR systemRotating shifts with options for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts beginning at 8:00 AMOn-call required one weekday (1600 until last case) and every 7th-8th weekend (Friday 1600 to Monday morning until last case completes)Scheduled to work 75% of holidays if assignedNo floating requiredResponsibilities include scrubbing and assisting in procedures, equipment operation, and supporting fellow technologists in high-acuity casesSupport team includes tech extenders, two techs per room, and dedicated neuro and body physiciansDepartment provides up to 2 weeks of orientation based on previous experience and comfort levelComfort working with new graduates and supporting preceptorship as needed is expectedHospital-provided scrubs must be wornFree parking availableFirst-time travelers are welcome for considerationTime off requests require manager approval
Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience in Interventional Radiology and/or Neuro IR at a Level 1 Trauma CenterARRT-R or RCIS certification requiredCurrent BLS requiredProficient in scrubbing, assisting, and circulating in IR proceduresFamiliarity with Siemens, GE, and Philips imaging and GE ultrasound unitsExperience with Epic EMR preferredLicense required if applicable
