    Description

    The Emory Department of Pediatrics, in partnership with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, is in need of a full-time Pediatric Neuropsychology Director for the Division of Pediatric Neurology. This role involves overseeing the operational management of Neuropsychologists and Psychometrists within the practice. Working closely with the Chief of Neurology, the Director manages clinical staffing, scheduling, performance, and personnel within the practice.



    Our Pediatric Neuropsychology Team
    The Neuropsychology Department at Children's stands as one of the most sizable in the Southeast region. Our team comprises 12 neuropsychologists (9 of whom are board certified), five pediatric psychologists (with 2 possessing board certification), four psychometrists, and an accredited training program.
    Our team specializes in treating patients with complex medical and neurological backgrounds spanning various age groups (birth to 20 years old) and in different clinical settings. As a team, we prioritize collaboration, research, and diverse training opportunities.



    Minimum Qualifications
    Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an accredited training program (APA/CPA) and have completed a formal postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology focusing on pediatrics. Candidates should be eligible for licensure in Georgia and possess board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP/ABCN).     Job Duties & Responsibilities
    Clinical Service:
    • Provides tailored services to meet each patient's specific needs, primarily in outpatient settings.
    • Conducts intakes, screenings, and cognitive evaluations in line with departmental standards.
    • Utilizes test results to formulate appropriate recommendations and interventions.
    • Offers education on brain injuries to families and caregivers, emphasizing neuropathology and managing neuropsychological issues.
    • Ensures timely communication and documentation for effective patient care and billing compliance.
    • Supervises allied health providers, trainees, and staff, fostering continuous professional growth.
    • Delivers competent care to patients aged from newborns to 20-year-olds with a family-centered approach.
    • Identifies and addresses patient/family needs, coordinating additional services as required.

    Research:
    • Collaborates with providers internally and externally to drive research projects and program enhancement.
    • Oversees research initiatives, from design to dissemination of findings following external review protocols.
    • Actively engages in research activities and seeks opportunities to lead projects of interest.

    Teaching:
    • Provides direct supervision to trainees, ensuring ample training opportunities through various educational activities.
    • Participates in didactic sessions and contributes to teaching through patient interactions, case reviews, and research.

    Administrative:
    • Offers leadership and management to achieve the goals of the department in various areas.
    • Oversees administrative, clinical, research, and training activities within the department.
    • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and protocols, promoting safe patient care.
    • Manages staff performance and encourages professional development through educational programs and activities.
    • Participates in operational and program development activities, overseeing budgets and ensuring program compliance.
    • Engages in professional development activities and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

    This role may be situated in the Emory + Children's Pediatric Institute, operating within the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology. The Pediatric Institute, a collaboration between Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of children in Georgia and beyond.
