    Controller Description

    Our client, an innovative company in the manufacturing industry, is looking for a Controller to add to their team outside of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

    Reporting to the Vice President, you will be responsible for ensuring organization-wide compliance with GAAP, supervising an accounting team of four (4), and coordinating tax preparation and filings.

    Ideal candidates will have experience managing mid-sized company budgets, preferably in a multi-entity organization, and be able to navigate differing state and local tax regulations.


    Aside from the main duties, our client is looking for an individual with excellent communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach to team management.

    Controller Responsibilities


    Maintain accounting policies


    Supervise and manage the accounting team of four (4)


    Produce financial reports ensuring compliance with standards


    Recommend benchmarks for company performance measurement


    Develop annual budgets and forecasts, reporting significant differences


    Provide financial analysis for investments, pricing, and negotiations


    Coordinate with auditors and file reports with regulatory bodies


    Review and accurately report month-end closing activities


    Manage year-end audit process to GAAP standards


    Coordinate tax return preparation and review
    Controller Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree required


    5+ years of accounting experience required


    Experience with tax regulations across multiple states required


    In-depth knowledge of GAAP principles required


    Advanced MS Excel proficiency required (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)
