Job Overview
The Field Service Technician is a highly self-motivated professional who has a minimum of two years experience pertaining to mechanical equipment service (i.e. air compressors, pumps). This individual must be able to provide service as needed on a 24/7 basis to our customers.
Some jobs do require an overnight stay and mandatory training classes may also require this individual to be out of town for one-week periods.
Our most successfulField Service Technician:
Education:
High school diploma / GED equivalent
Pump and air compressor field service experience preferred.
Mechanical and electrical experience with pumps and air compressors and ability to troubleshoot.
Basic experience with computers and wireless communication devices preferred.
Customer Service, Communication, and Organizational skills are essential.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted.
Ability to read and interpret diagrams and schematics
Operate test/measuring equipment
Must be a US citizen
Must be able to pass background and reference checks, as well as a drug test
Must maintain an active driver's license with a clean driving record
Scope of responsibility:
Independently perform expert field service and repair on pumps and air compressors.
Follow OSHA Safety requirements at all times
Perform new & repaired equipment start-up commissioning and training.
Properly and accurately complete service-related documentation, and utilize electronic communication & documentation devices where applicable (i.e. Wireless tablets).
Effectively communicate with customers and coworkers alike.
Maintain an organized, clean, and resourceful work environment including the shop, work area, and service vehicle.
Consistently provide a courteous and professional representation of Cummins-Wagner employees and products.
Required to be on call and able to travel for out-of-town jobs.

Serve as a mentor and assist with the training of new field service technicians
Perform all other duties as assigned
