    The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia's public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.

    The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.

    Job Description

    Job Title: Regional Behavior Analyst Supervisor - Region 6 (Columbus, GA)

    Pay Grade: L

    Job Summary:
    • Conducts training for Regional Office staff on positive behavior support service provision and provides oversight as needed.
    • Develops and conducts positive behavior support training for providers within Region when appropriate and necessary to meet specific needs of providers within the region.
    • Participates in regional field office staff meetings and DD Provider Meetings.
    • Provides supervision and direction to behavior specialist staff including updates related to DBHDD policies and procedures, review of work product assessments and recommendations, and tracking of productivity within assigned region.
    • Coordinates regional visits by the Georgia Behavior Analysis Peer Review Committee (BAPRC), which includes selecting behavioral service providers, assisting with planning and logistics, and accompanying members on the visit.
    • Provides on-going follow-up with providers to implement recommendations made by the BAPRC.
    • Monitors delivery of positive behavior support services by developmental disability providers within the region to ensure compliance with state policies and standards.
    • Provides consultation to regional staff and provider agencies regarding staff training and individual case consultation.
    • Provides consultation to providers on individual cases, including general and specific programmatic approaches to ensure appropriate and quality positive behavior support planning and implementation.
    • Provides consultation and support to crisis service providers on individual cases in crisis homes, as needed, including on-site visits, if necessary, to provide support services to behavior professional staff working in crisis home settings, review behavior support plans and safety plans, identify and refer difficult/complex cases to the BAPRC Committee for additional consultation and recommendations, and follow up with the community behavior support professionals as the individual transitions back into the community.
    • Conducts behavioral progress reviews and makes referrals to appropriate professionals to ensure individuals receiving services are receiving quality care.
    • Conducts reviews of behavior support plans for individuals receiving enhanced staffing and/or behavioral supports for exceptionally challenging behaviors and makes recommendations for changes/modifications as needed.
    • Reviews behavioral incident alerts and provides follows up and consultation as needed.
    • Conducts reviews of Requests for Special Circumstances and provides recommendations to the Statewide Manager of Behavioral Services and Division of DD.
    • Conducts behavioral triage assessments of individuals transitioning from state hospitals to community placements and consults with community provider agencies to ensure appropriate positive behavior support plans are developed and implemented by provider agencies.
    • Supports and provides supervision (if meets BACB supervision requirements) to DBHDD employees working toward board certification in behavior analysis.
    Qualifications/Requirements:

    Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has completed a Master's degree in behavior analysis, education, or psychology with completion of approved BACB graduate coursework, AND 1500 hours of experience in the field with 5% of those hours being supervised by a BCBA, AND has received a passing score on the Behavior Analysis Certification Board Exam, AND has specialized training in developmental disabilities as evidenced by college coursework or practicum/internship experience OR one year of experience in providing services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    One year of experience in providing behavioral services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
    Experience working with the dually diagnosed individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs;

    Experience providing technical assistance and training;
    Experience in providing staff supervision and quality assurance activities;
    Knowledge of clinical best practice standards for behavioral services to individuals with developmental disabilities
