    This position has been evaluated with a salary of $65-80,000 dependant on level of experience.
    About the Role
    The Buyer supports the Operations team by raising, managing, and expediting purchase orders to ensure materials and components are delivered on time to support production and customer demand. The role focuses on order accuracy, supplier follow-up, and day-to-day purchasing activities rather than strategic procurement.
    Working closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, and Logistics teams, the Buyer liaises with suppliers to manage deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain accurate purchasing data. The role supports categories such as electronic components, PCB assemblies, cable assemblies, and fabricated or machined parts.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Raise and maintain MRP-planned purchase orders in line with planning requirements
    • Convert approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders with nominated suppliers
    • Confirm supplier acknowledgements and actively expedite orders to meet required delivery dates
    • Monitor open purchase orders and maintain accurate order and delivery information in the ERP system
    • Follow up suppliers to identify and resolve delivery, quantity, or quality issues
    • Support on-time-in-full delivery performance and escalate risks where required
    • Assist with supplier communication and basic performance tracking
    • Support cost, lead-time, and availability improvements through day-to-day supplier management
    About You
    The role suits someone with prior experience in a buyer, purchasing, or expediting role within a manufacturing or supply chain environment. Exposure to electronics, mechanical, or production-based purchasing is beneficial but not essential.
    Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow up and manage multiple purchase orders are key to success in the role. The position requires clear communication with suppliers and internal teams, along with the ability to identify delivery risks and take action.
    Experience working with an MRP or ERP system is required, along with basic data handling and reporting skills using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
