    Firefly seeks a skilled Director of Major Gifts to join our team in achieving our major gift fundraising objectives working solely with individual donors and prospects to support Firefly's needs in programmatic, capital, endowment and other types of funding. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Major Gifts will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective major gift and planned giving donors.

    This involves prospect research and developing effective solicitation strategies as well as stewarding donors throughout the major giving process. The Director of Major Gifts will compile this information within an existing donor portfolio emphasizing gifts of $10,000 or greater. Regular evaluation of the portfolio will occur, moving donors and prospects in and out.

    This individual will also work with our board members and staff leaders to coordinate and execute short- and long- term fundraising initiatives.

    You Will:
    • Execute the major gifts program in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer
    • Manage a major gift portfolio of approximately 125 individuals
    • Research major gift donor prospects
    • Grow relationships with major gift donors and prospects utilizing proven best practices in cultivation and stewardship
    • Develop solicitation strategies for major gift prospects
    • Design and implement stewardship strategies for the donors and prospects in the portfolio
    • Work collaboratively with the board and staff
    You Have:
    • 5-7 years of fundraising experience
    • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience securing major gifts of at least $10,000 from individuals
    • Proven relationship building skills while matching prospects' personal interests with Firefly's vision, mission, and programs
    • Understanding of the child welfare system, or the ability to quickly get up to speed
