    Network/FortiGate Engineer (4-6 years' experience Network experience) (Right to Hire)

    Location (s): Austin, Texas (REMOTE - after 6 months)

    Rate :
    up to 60hr

    Conversion to full time would be ~120K + 20% Bonus + 9% Match on 401K

    This is a unique opportunity where you will travel to 100+ sites nationwide.

    Most of the sites are in the Western region of the country.

    You would document and diagram all network assets at each site.

    You must be willing to travel 3-5 days a week for the next 6 months.


    Once all sites are documented, you would work remotely as a Network Engineer, supporting all OT around the company (engineering and operations).

    Must possess strong recent hands-on knowlede of Fortinet.

    Report directly to the Director of Information Technology (Network), the IT/OT Senior Associate Infrastructure. Information Technology is responsible for IT/OT infrastructure operations and management.

    Any experience with OT/SCADA and NERC CIP would be considered a MAJOR plus......

    Responsibilities

    Planning and management of telecommunications and networks.
    Design, develop, implement, and monitor solutions and processes to ensure a robust, stable, and secured Network environment.

    Responsible for ensuring that networks have maximum uptime, providing fast and reliable connections for employees to complete their work promptly.

    Provide oversight for consultants and engage in staff and hiring professional development while maintaining effective relationships with staff, colleagues, business users, and vendors built on transparency, inclusion, and trust.

    Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.

    Qualifications

    Must possess strong recent hands-on knowlede of Fortinet.
    A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related subject is required. Relevant certification plus equivalent experience can be substituted.
    Minimum 5+ years' related work experience required.
    Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
    Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
    Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
    Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
    Good understanding of cyber security hygiene, detection and monitoring tools, and compliance requirements.
    Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., SNMP, IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
    Proven hands-on network engineering experience.

    Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and, success of changes made to the network infrastructure.

    An understanding of the NERC CIP framework and experience with facilitating audit exercises such as tabletop drills, NERC, and SOX audits.

    Experience with IT/OT ecosystem and SCADA preferred.
    Good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to analyze/troubleshoot various situations.
    Excellent understanding of emerging computer & cloud technologies, cyber security threats, and remediation strategies.
    Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to travel to various Company locations and sites.
