The Education Technician is a direct care position that performs instructional tasks in OTC, a special purpose private school in the classroom and community settings.
+Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working with students with developmental disabilities who have varying abilities and behaviors is preferred.
- Ability to safely accompany individuals into the community.
Responsibilities
- Provides academic support to students by way of explanation alternative teaching methods one-on-one tutoring achieve students Individual Education Plan goals objectives li Attends personal needs safety assigned students all times ensure access participation daily routine curriculum including feeding toileting personal hygiene first aid li Supports student joining classroom activities adapting these activities as needed under supervision classroom teacher li Protects health wellbeing clients served including de-escalation techniques administering physical restraints protect themselves others harm etc ul>
