    Position Summary:


    As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring quality patient care during the operative procedure while constantly being on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

    You will be tasked with preparing and sterilizing the operating rooms, as well as the necessary equipment and instruments, prior to any surgical procedure.

    You will also be charged with preparing the patients for surgery and helping provide great patient experiences overall.


    Job Duties & Essential Functions:
    Assist physician providers in the sterile surgical operating room using training techniques of the CST and under the direction of the physicianCollect, verify and ready needed supplies, equipment, instruments, medications, and solutions for each surgical procedureAssist with draping and establishing the sterile fieldSecure tubing, cords, and other sterile accessoriesPrepare and anticipate additional instrumentation, equipment and supplies for usage during the procedureMeasure and pass medications, hemostatic agents and irrigation solutions used during the procedureHold retractors or instruments as delegated by the surgeonSponge or suction the operative site as delegated by the surgeonLoad, cut, and manage suturesMaintain the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedureClean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilizationClose out the room, re-stock and fill the rooms with enough surgical packs for the following daysproceduresPerform quality control inspection of instruments ensuring there are no damages to the integritySpecial projects and other duties may be assigned as needed

    Required Qualifications:
    High School Diploma or equivalent requiredCurrent BLS certification or obtain within 6 months of employmentCertified Surgical Technician (CST)

    Certification from an accredited schoolOne or more years of related work experience in operating room preferredMembership in surgical specialty society encouragedStrong communication skills and ability to work well is a high-stress environmentPreferred Qualifications:
    Bilingual in English and Spanish or ability to speak other languages is desirable

    Work Schedule:
    Rotating Schedule - including days, evenings, and weekends

    Salary Range:
