    Description

    Position: OSP Field Engineer

    Location: Honolulu, HI

    About the Job: The OSP Field Engineer is responsible for carrying out engineering tasks on-site or in the field. This includes collecting measurements, data, and notes for various engineering activities related to Outside Plant (OSP) projects.

    • Gather, organize, and deliver OSP field engineering specifications and notes
    • Inspect and solve work order obstacles, recording discrepancies
    • Help maintain outside plant cable/pole records
    • Respond to pole requests and conduit occupancy requests
    • Prepare joint use and permit information for submissions
    • Assist in field audits
    • Inspect OSP support structures
    • Interface with various entities for project plans
    • Validate make-ready estimates and find cost-effective solutions
    • Perform other OSP engineering duties as needed

    Education:

    • Four-year college degree or equivalent in relevant field

    Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license

    Work Experience: 1 to 3 years in a similar role

    • Experience with engineering drawings
    • Previous outside plant experience desired
    • Experience with drafting work orders and updating records

    Skills:

    • Familiarity with engineering CAD and record databases
    • Customer interfacing skills
    • Ability to interpret land records

    Work Environment:

    • Available 24/7 for call outs and emergencies
    • Work in various locations and conditions

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift, set up equipment, climb ladders
    • May involve heavy equipment handling

    Salary Range: $70,000-$98,000
