    The role of a Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) Process Development Engineer in LTD encompasses developing and sustaining planarization techniques for a variety of materials and architectures, enabling rapid miniaturization in the semiconductor industry and the mass production of integrated circuits.

    CMP techniques leverage physics, chemistry, materials science and surface science concepts, and exist at the intersection of these disciplines.

    As a result, our team has a diverse set of scientific backgrounds that relies on strong collaboration and shared learning.

    Prior knowledge of Chemical Mechanical Planarization is not required.

    As a Process Development Engineer you will:
    Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments necessary to meet engineering specifications for the process.
    Participating in the development of intellectual property.

    Developing the equipment and components necessary to leverage understanding gained in research (in collaboration with suppliers), identifying shortcomings, and proposing and evaluating modifications to mitigate issues or enable new capabilities.

    Overseeing unique CMP steps in a manufacturing line which integrates thousands of steps necessary for the manufacture of complex microprocessors, while simultaneously transferring the technology to counterparts in manufacturing sites across the globe.


    Candidates should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
    Rapid analysis of complex process issues and identification of a solution path.
    Ability to be self-directing and show initiative.
    Strong communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to summarize complex data sets for technical and non-technical audiences.


    Qualifications:
    You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Candidates must have been out of the paid technical workforce for at least one year
    PhD Degree in Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

    1+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Hands-on experience using and maintaining scientific equipment, research experience, experimental and data analysis expertise.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    1+ year semiconductor device research, development or characterization experience
