    SCOPE/CONTACTS: The incumbent will review loan files for accuracy and compliance, prepare files for auditors and quality control audits. Will underwrite files and appraisals to agency guidelines. Investor and Bank lending policies and procedures guide this position. Incumbent has extensive contact on a daily basis with Bank customers, bank personnel as well as outside contact with Realtors, builders, title companies, appraisers, underwriters, and other related entities to insure a competitive product that meets the customer's needs.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for underwriting and approving all eligible loans.
    • Helps loan officers select investors that can best meet loan prospects, and Company's, needs
    • Determines the accuracy/appropriateness of documents submitted in conjunction with loan applications
    • Ensures loan documentation compliance with lending and investor requirements
    • Makes decisions regarding how to prioritize multiple tasks and best meet prospect customer needs.
    • Reviews and underwrites mortgage loans against investor guidelines to include reviewing loans to insure accuracy and completeness ensuring loans meet investor guidelines for sale into secondary market researching industry investor guidelines for various loan programs issuing an underwriting status report to update loan status.
    • Aids loan officers and loan processors to include:
      • requesting additional information to meet loan guidelines, answering questions and providing information on loan scenarios, anticipating and addressing loan problems as they arise.
    • Oversees quality control of loan files to include:
      • documenting loan files coordinating quarterly audits of loan files.
    • Actively participates in the Customer Service First sales and service culture, supports the values of the Organization, and follows established Bank policies and procedures.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High school education or equivalent.
    • Must have a minimum of five years loan processing and/or underwriting experience
    • Working knowledge of investor and government guidelines and procedures.
    • Computer skills should include Microsoft Office software.
    • Good organizational, communications, and customer relations skills are required.
    • Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks, prioritizing workload, meeting deadlines, and handling frequent interruptions.
