    The has a permanent opportunity for an Administrative Specialist 1. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to develop skills in compliance, administering programs, and developing your knowledge of laws and regulations.     The Oregon State Hospital provides patient-centered, psychiatric treatment for adults from throughout the state who need hospital-level care. Our primary goal is to help people recover from their illness and return to the community.     What you will do

    This AS1 position provides administrative support to the Centralized Staffing Office. This position will maintain and coordinate schedules for the hospital's direct care staff. This position communicates directly with units to schedule staff and answer questions. This position provides support and assistance to the Program Nurse Managers, Nurse Managers, and Director of Nursing for each program.

    Shifts and days off will vary. The Oregon State Hospital is a 24/7 Facility with varied working hours which will include weekends and/or holidays.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data

    OR

    • An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data

    OR

    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Attributes:

    • Staffing experience in a medical or similar facility
    • Experience performing a variety of clerical functions at a technical or secretarial support level requiring decision-making within established laws, rules, policies and procedures.
    • Experience applying laws, rules, policies, procedures, and applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of agency records.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions.
    • Ability to use a multi-Line phone system – dealing with large amounts of inbound and outbound calls.
