As the Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for training, inspecting, auditing, and implementing policies and procedures that ensure all employees are working safely and compliant with all state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. Responsibilities
Evaluate the workplace for safety hazards
Generate job hazard assessments for required projects
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work conditions
Coordinate and provide safety training to company employees (Orientation, demonstration, & on-site meetings)
Inspect and audit project sites, warehouses, offices, and vehicles, equipment, and work practices to ensure both internal and external (OSHA) compliance
Ensure disciplinary actions are followed through when violations are found
Investigate accidents and injuries to identify causes, prevention, and appropriate communication to 3
rd
party entities
Ensure record keeping data is accurate and up to date (i.e.: training/weekly safety meeting rosters, certifications, incident forms, Safety Bulletins, Hazmat, hazardous waste, exposure, and inspection/auditing records)
Support creation and revision of new/existing safety programs by keeping abreast of current safety regulations
Provide weekly reports to upper management of safety related issues (Workforce injuries, upcoming trainings, status reports)
Support in Workers Compensation case management with employee, manager, case worker follow-up, ensuring best possible outcome (minimized to zero modified/loss workdays)
Partner with Insurance and Workers Compensation reps and regularly communicate goals and strategies to minimize incidents
Travel to project sites for inspecting/auditing, training, or work purposes to continue educating team members in construction safety compliance and safe work procedures.
Review, edit, support in the creation of, and approve site specific safety plans
Provide safety services for office, warehouse, and vehicle environments
