- Attend pre-season mandatory training;
- Develop professional goals for the summer;
- Follow GSUSA, ACCT, ACA and NYSDOH standards;
- Teach games, initiative, and introductory activities;
- Teach participants about element safety procedures;
- Assist in developing activity progression for campers;
- Provide attainable challenges on the ropes course;
- Report accidents/incidents to supervisor or health supervisor;
- Maintain equipment safety and cleanliness;
- Lead by example;
- Emphasize safety;
- Conduct daily equipment inspections;
- Participate in all aspects of camp;
- Work as Unit Counselor when not acting as Ropes Course Counselor;
- Assist with overnights and bus aide duties;
- Apply behavior management techniques to conflicts;
- Report suspected child abuse immediately;
- Accept other responsibilities as deemed necessary.

- Required to stay on property during hours of operation;
- Must be willing to work in an outdoor setting and in inclement weather.
- Willingness to abide by Girl Scouts of Western New York policies;
- Minimum age: 16;
- Attend required ropes course training prior to pre-camp;
- Demonstrate mastery of Challenge Course Checklist skills;
- Certified Sex Offender Registry and Criminal Background Checks will be completed;
- Demonstrate ability to guide/supervise other adults;
- Desire and ability to work with children and peers in an outdoor environment;
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR or willingness to complete certification course;
- Prior camp experience and/or interest in the Girl Scout Camping program;
- Good health and stamina necessary for camp work.
