    (Contingent upon available funding): , Hourly Work Schedule: 8am - 5pm or TBD by Supervisor Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Energy Services' Utilities Distribution organization is responsible for operating and maintaining the distribution systems that delivers utility services to campus buildings. Utility systems include chilled water, domestic water, high pressure steam, storm and sanitary sewers, and natural gas.The Utilities Distribution Supervisor is responsible to: Schedule, supervise and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Utilities Distribution staff including the assignment and oversight of preventive, reactive, emergency and scheduled work orders.Manage routine administrative duties for the Utilities Distribution organization, such as timekeeping, purchasing, and personnel actions.Plan, develop and coordinate the Utilities Distribution work activities in support of other University organizations.

    Employee in this position must be able to respond at any time of the day or night, when scheduled by management, regardless of the weather conditions.The position may require occasional standby for emergencies and/or any other event after normal working hours. Position requires working some irregular and extra hours as needed for projects and emergencies and may require work during non-business hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other times when the University is closed. Emergencies may involve difficult working conditions in extreme weather and on rough terrain.
    Due to communication expectations of the position, the employee will be required to maintain a personal cell phone and will be required to be continually available during and after normal working hours.

    Employee must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use.Must work safely, adhere to all safety requirements, and promote a safe work environment.
    Routine hazards include: high pressure steam, electrical equipment, ACM, confined spaces, trench excavations, sanitary sewer effluent, hazardous chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.Exposed to extreme heat and cold, working around hazardous equipment. Outside in all types of inclement weather, high levels of dust and noise.
    Position requires regular physical exertion to complete assignments; ability to easily move about or remain in a stationary position 50% of the time; adaptability to oversee work in confined spaces, trenches, cramped areas, and to oversee or participate in the operation of heavy equipment during utility maintenance and repair.Employee must be able to lift, pull, push, and/or carry sometimes very heavy equipment and supplies, including the ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift in excess of 50 lbs.OSU offers a generous benefits package for continuous, regular positions, including but not limited to health, life and retirement benefits, paid leave and 13 paid holidays per year.     Minimum Qualifications:

    High School/GED and Eight years of prior successful work experience with four of those years working in a building maintenance organization.

    Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.

    Have Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) Class D Water and Waste-Water license within 6 months of hire and maintain license for duration of employment.

    Become industry certified in polyethylene fusion welding within 12 months of hire.

    Certified for natural gas "operator qualified" status from approved training facility within 12 months of hire.

    Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.

    Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Position requires the ability to follow directions as presented by management, and demonstrate effective work habits including a commitment to quality work, attention to detail, time management, competent record-keeping and organizational skills, and good judgment in making decisions. Must be able to absorb and act on complex or technical information. Ability to develop and present programs on safety. Required to work safely and promote a safe environment. Ability to become proficient in the use of "AiM" Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software, and the use of mobile technology.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Two years of vocational or technical post-secondary education in a related field and eight years of work experience in a utility, technical, or related trade. Or a high school diploma/GED and ten years of experience in a utility, technical, or related trade.

    Two or more years of supervisory experience.

    General knowledge of utility distribution systems, metering, and utility maintenance. Evidence of performing or developing preventive maintenance checks, services and schedules and interpreting diagnostic information related to proactive maintenance programs.
