Information Technology Manager | Hartford, CT | HybridWe're working with a North American leader in innovative transit solutions on this exciting opportunity.
We are looking for a high-energy IT leader to spearhead technical operations and critical infrastructure for a high-volume transportation hub.
As the IT Manager, you will be the primary technical authority driving the success of our transit operations through expert management of Trapeze software, enterprise networking, and mission-critical server environments.
This is a punchy, hands-on role where you will bridge the gap between complex transit tech and corporate infrastructure to keep a city moving.
The Role- Lead the deployment and optimization of Trapeze transit software to ensure seamless vehicle dispatch and reservation operations.
- Architect and maintain robust server environments including Domain Controllers, File Servers, and MS SQL Server databases.
- Direct all local technical infrastructure including Cisco networking (switches/routers), VOIP telephony, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Manage high-stakes IT projects from conception to completion, overseeing vendor relationships and IT personnel to meet strict SLAs.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for client agencies, delivering strategic reports and aligning investment plans with operational risks and costs.
- Deep, hands-on proficiency with Trapeze transit software—this is a non-negotiable requirement for this specific operation.
- Advanced expertise in Windows Server environments (2012/2016), Active Directory management, and MS SQL Server administration.
- Strong networking fundamentals with specific experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco hardware and virtualization technologies.
- Proven experience managing field-specific hardware including Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs), in-vehicle tablets, and specialized peripheral hardware.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to make rapid, informed decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
