Position Overview
As a Team Leader, you will be part of the logistics team, leading the daily cycle counting of up to a 10-person team.
You will be responsible for assigning work to team members, dealing with counting issues, and training new hires and associates on procedures and best practices.
This role is critical in developing a team culture focused on engagement, continuous improvement, and operational execution. You will be responsible for achieving the goals set for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (including Inventory and Productivity).Job Responsibilities
Assigning daily work/tasks to associates in your area of responsibility
Ensuring associates fill out all required documentation (scorecards, paperwork, etc.)
Onboarding and training new associates
Coaching of others to ensure work is completed correctly and in a timely fashion
A go-to resource for inventory questions and issues
Creation of daily counts for all cycle counters
Creation of recounts
Preliminary investigation of discrepancies
Working with the Inventory Planner on larger identified problems
Cleanroom inventory audits of materials both Kanban and POU
Reporting of damaged goods and raising of non-conformance reports
Keeps the stock in order, relabeling as necessary
Assists in material movement for internal and external logistics team members
Completes a basic packaging inspection to access if material meets basic qualifications (i.e. packaging damage.)
Solves SAP-related problems (e.g. Product is linked to customer order, removing counts for production use
Removes trash and recycling from aisleways and placed in external trash bins/ compactor
Contributes to the continuous improvement (DBS) culture
Identifying waste in process
Participating in and leading kaizen events
Assisting Other Team Leaders and VSLs in the Problem-Solving Process (PSP) to understand gaps in cell performance, investigate causes to understand root cause, and put in robust countermeasures to drive improvements
Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and projects which increase the overall effectiveness of the manufacturing operation
Facilitate cross training of associates to ensure team can be flexible to meet demand
Minimum Qualifications
HS Diploma or equivalent
Warehouse/Cycle Counting experience
Proficient computer skills to access production information as required
Must have experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word specifically)
Must be able to operate a forklift or other similar equipment
Knowledge of SAP/DSI is preferred
