Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our teamResponsibilitiesWork under the guidance of Waltonen Chief EngineerDevelop designs for subsystems, components, and mounting provisions for various devices.
Design subsystems and components related to hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, shock isolation to meet vehicle requirementsPerform analysis of design and be able to apply engineering judgment in material selection, welding, and fabrication for mechanical components and complex welded brackets, mounting provisionsCreate drawing mark-ups, conduct tolerance stack analysis, and generate source data for engineering changesProvide technical support during prototype and production vehicle buildsWork closely with Waltonen's Design & Engineering teams to create impactful solutions for military vehiclesLeverage expertise to enhance vehicle performance, durability, and safety in defense applicationsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldWorking knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, and shock isolationExperience with design, integration, and analysis of mechanical components and mechanisms Understanding of the mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication methods for mechanical components and complex welded structuresSolid understanding of CAD softwareOnly United States Citizens can be consideredMust possess or be able to obtain security clearanceWillingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloadsPreferred QualificationsExperience in vehicle components and/or systems engineering.
