8/2026 Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned to student needs, behavioral goals, and state standards
Provide specially designed instruction and behavioral support in small group, structured, and inclusive settings
Implement and support positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and behavior plans
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with state and federal requirements
Meet timelines and maintain strong progress-monitoring systems for academic and behavioral growth
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support inclusion, behavior regulation, and student success
Support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral skill development
Positive, relationship-driven, and student-centered
Calm, consistent, and skilled in de-escalation and proactive behavior support
Strong organizational and planning skills
Consistently meets deadlines and honors team commitments
Reliable follow-through with timely completion of required documentation
Effective communicator who partners well with staff, students, and families
Valid Nebraska Special Education Teaching Certificate, or ability to obtain prior to the start date
Knowledge of behavior disorder programming, PBIS, and inclusive instructional practices preferred
Experience working with middle-school students and behavioral supports preferred

Beatrice Public Schools is hiring a Special Education Teacher – Behavior Disorder (BD) at Beatrice Middle School for the 2026–2027 school year. This position serves students in grades 6–8 and focuses on supporting students with behavioral needs through structured, inclusive, and relationship-based practices.
Success in this role requires strong collaboration with general education teachers, paraeducators, administrators, and families to support positive behavior, access to instruction, and student growth.
