- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs process plant and field mechanical equipment in a timely manner.
- Assists in the seeing that required PM and repair work is completed.
- Overhauls pumps, motors, gear reducers, fans, and other mechanical equipment.
- Conducts tests on process equipment and implements equipment improvements.
- Develops layouts, installs and repairs PVC and copper piping systems.
- Operates and maintains shop equipment, forklifts, tractors and Company vehicles.
- Maintains accurate records, logs and reports of equipment maintenance.
- Performs inspections on process systems to ensure that equipment is in proper condition.
- Perform repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Supports project and repair work in other areas as required.
- Responds to emergency after hours calls.
- Conducts Quality Control functions as needed and trained.
- Complies with GMP and safety guidelines in all work duties.
- Maintains efficient and productive work output with minimum supervision.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of experience in repair and maintenance of process or industrial equipment.
- Reads and comprehends technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.
- Additional skills in one or more of the following trades: industrial mechanic, building maintenance, welding, carpentry, refrigeration mechanics, process control, electrician, painter or related trades.
- Proficiency with PC based computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to perform work in areas with difficult access, and with heavy lifting required.
- Able to operate Forklift, Sky Trak, Back hoe, tractors.
- Must have a valid driver's license to be certified for forklift and heavy equipment operation.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job DescriptionThis is a full-time, non-exempt position located in Kailua-Kona, HI. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining equipment for the process plant, field and shop, and company vehicles. Additionally, this positions requires the skills in shielded metal arc welding and gas tungsten arc welding.

Physical Demands:
This position requires heavy physical activity including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, twisting, kneeling and stooping. May be required to lift up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis. (Assisted-lifting is encouraged for heavy items.)
Working Conditions:
A majority of the work is performed outside, in a sunny, warm climate, and inside in production areas which can be humid.
