    Overview:
    Axient is looking for a

    Network Engineer

    to support our customer, the Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility (GWEF) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida


    US Citizenship and Top Secret Security Clearance Required

    The GWEF


    is part of a comprehensive group of organizations within the 96th TW responsible for future testing requirements and technology infrastructure to support its Developmental Test & Evaluation mission.

    The Wing's advanced facilities, and their elements, require safeguarding from outside intrusions and require the appropriate operational architecture hardening to do so.


    Responsibilities:
    Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining WAN/LAN networks, to include the associated, encryption, firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, VPN, QoS
    Knowledge of network configuration and support for Real-Time simulation systems.
    Ability to evaluate IT environments and identify security goals, vulnerabilities, objectives, and requirements.

    Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified ISs and data using Air Force approved network engineering practices, information security standards, approved industry best practices, and by employing approved new technologies.

    Experience troubleshooting network hardware including but not limited to switches, routers, boundary protection, Cross-Domain Solutions, Data Diodes and various other network managed devices.

    Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.

    Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.

    Knowledge of Cyber analyst and troubleshooting tools and workflows to include: SCAP, Nessus (ACAS), Wireshark, Terminal Emulation and NMap.
    Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
    Ability to maintain DoD 8140 certifications in the following environments: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and CCNA Security.


    Qualifications:
    Masters with 10 years experience in Network administration, data warehousing, & secured Data transmission. Substitution of experience for education will be considered with government approval.
    Must have the ability to quickly understand the customers overall technical objectives and mission and provide effective solutions.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities required.
    Must be able to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group.

    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.

    Other Desired Skills
    Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Windows Hyper-V.
    Experience with designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures
    Familiar with DoD PKI trusted identity managed systems.
    Knowledge of a scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Perl, or C, C++.
    Knowledge of NIST, NISPOM, DSS, JSIG and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Cybersecurity requirements.
    Knowledge and experience with DoD STIGs, VMS, and DoD FSO operational standards.
    Experience with General Dynamics TACLANE to include the Micro and Gig-E models.
    Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
