- Is responsible for scheduling and/or performing first article inspections for machined components
- Performs in-process and final inspections to check dimensions, cosmetic criteria counts and packaging of parts to ensure quality
- Ensures all job operations as well as certificates of compliance and material certificates are complete
- Communicates between all departments to ensure product meets all quality standards
- Answers quality questions from employees and trains others on quality criteria
- Effectively train others in the use of basic measuring instruments.
- Manages filing of production and measurement documents
- Instructs others on dimensional inspection, cosmetic inspection and general drawing interpretation
- Builds and maintains positive rapport, communication and behavior with other Altek employees, customers and/or suppliers
- Adapts and modifies as circumstances warrant
- Demonstrates safe work habits
- Embraces Altek's Quality Policy to ensure quality to internal and external customers
- Embraces Altek's vision, core values, and expected behaviors
- Ensures that the daily, weekly and monthly commitments to customers are met
- Responsible for measuring parts and managing data for process capability studies performed at Altek
- Responsible for updating quality plans and documentation for print revision changes
- Attends and participate in MRB meetings as needed
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of five years' experience in Quality Assurance roles
- Experience with AS9100 standard
- Experience with AS9102 First Article
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001
- Strong understanding of GD&T
- CMM programming experience
- Excellent documentation skills
- Understanding of machine shop, assembly and manufacturing functions
- Ability to accurately read drawings (aerospace/military)
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong written, verbal and digital communication skills (Microsoft Suite)

Summary: The QA Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the Machine Shop Quality personnel and optimizing resources to achieve quality and delivery metrics as per BPM. The QA Supervisor is also responsible for supporting lean manufacturing principles and supervising with a sense of urgency to promote on-time delivery. Promotes teamwork through their behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations as defined by management.
