- Previous experience in heavy truck, equipment, or automotive mechanics.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel equipment, electrical, hydraulic and drive train systems is preferred.
- Welding and fabricating experience is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms.
- Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment.
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics.
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software.
- A valid driver's license.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills.
- Run diagnostic tests on equipment.
- Identify problem(s).
- Make necessary repairs.
- Test drive the equipment to determine if properly repaired.
- Performs maintenance activities on heavy equipment.
- Orders required parts.
- Experience in repair of aggregate crushing and wash plant equipment would be considered a plus.
