    The General Superintendent of Concrete Paving schedules, directs & coordinates all field operations associated with concrete paving operations. This individual will monitor the lime & fine grading operations, direct our subcontractors, coordinate with our batch plants & equipment departments, as well as manage all set up, all machine & hand placement, and finish operations throughout the company. This individual will have 10 plus years of experience leading concrete paving operations for large-scale projects including DOT-highway, airport, tollway, municipal, residential and commercial project owners. You must demonstrate excellent leadership skills in the field, be able to multi-task, be well organized, be an effective communicator, be detail-oriented, and can behave and lead in a manner consistent with our core values outlined in the Mario Sinacola Way.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with both corporate & divisional safety personnel to achieve zero loss time safety incidents through enforcing training and best in practice management techniques.
    • Collaborate with Divisional Management to compile, and efficiently execute concrete paving and hand work schedules.
    • Coordinate with Paving Equipment Superintendent to ensure the proper utilization of the required equipment for each project.
    • Coordinate and schedule the move of related paving equipment in and out as needed.
    • Coordinate and confirm proper machine setup accuracy of machines with Paving Equipment Superintendent and Robotics Manager. Example: Type of curbs, widths, cross sections, crown heights and thickness.
    • Coordinate with lime Superintendents to ensure timely delivery of subgrade for paving operations.
    • Coordinate with subgrade supervision on the testing and maintenance between lime and paving.
    • Coordinate with lime Superintendents to ensure timely delivery of subgrade for paving operations.
    • Schedule and coordinate the logistics for paving equipment.
    • Work with Project Engineers & Project Managers to derive work plans as to how we will safely and efficiently progress each project for subgrade & paving operations.
    • Read & comprehend the plans & specifications for each project to ensure that all details are accounted for with regards to paving operations that includes, but not limited to paving widths, steel layout & placement, block-outs & joint patterns, required concrete mixes, saw cutting & sealing requirements, etc.
    • Proactively trouble shoot daily questions for the field in a timely manner.
    • Manage the set-up operations.
    • Manage the placement & finish operations for the paving spreads.
    • Manage all hand pour crews.
    • Have a good working knowledge of the Trimble Robotics components of stringless paving technology.
    • Collaborate with our batch plant operations to ensure timely delivery of concrete that meets each projects required specifications.
    • Work with foremen to ensure accuracy of JHAs, time, and quantities that are to be reported daily.
    • Be a good steward of the companys costs and budgets for each task at hand.
    • Coordinate & communicate Sinacolas paving operations with clients representative.
    • Coordinate & communicate with testing labs to ensure timely testing per the project specifications.
    • Build, manage, and train a team in the field to execute the work in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Ensure that the quality of the work is within the desired specifications.
    • Identify craft personnel in the division that need to be trained for future growth opportunities.
    • Promote Sinacolas ESOP culture and Team environment.
    • Perform annual assessment of superintendents, foreman, and craft personnel with Divisional Management.
