    Job Description


    The Associate Director of Compliance Operations is responsible for leading the Compliance Operations team in US Commercial Compliance within TA&O.

    This team will prioritize, design and deliver digital compliance training solutions to drive compliance performance of US Commercial employees/contractors.

    This position will partner with cross-functional teams of US Commercial, OEC, Quality, BTS, Global Learning and others to create compliance training solutions in partnership with key external suppliers.

    Must have a proven track record for leading cross-functional teams and must be adept at influencing leadership and budget management.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Building effective relationships to work collaboratively with US Commercial Leaders, US Commercial Compliance, US Commercial Learning & Development, OEC, TA&O, Global Learning and Cross-functional partners and other groups leading US Commercial Compliance initiatives or decisions made by OEC, Legal and Senior US Commercial or Executive leadership.
    • Manage the strategy, design, development, maintenance, and evaluation of compliance learning curricula for the US Commercial organization.
    • Drive the development of digital learning curricula across US Commercial and set priority for development of training to improve the capabilities within the organization.
    • Focus on continuous process improvement to reduce overlap and redundancies with the other AbbVie compliance training solutions.
    • Partner with senior leadership to ensure consistent development and delivery of compliance learning to satisfy legal and compliance requirements.
    • Routinely interfaces with senior leadership for reaching buy-in for initiatives/programs and to report out on compliance training metrics.
    • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key SMEs, OEC, Global Learning and leaders across the enterprise to develop and deliver training solutions in accordance with established deadlines.
    • Lead and develop a team of analysts and administrators to create value-add compliance solutions for US Commercial.
    • Lead innovation in compliance training development and delivery.
    • Seek out novel applications with existing technology platforms and serve as consultant on enterprise platform assessments.
    • Manage teams and suppliers to adhere to prescribed budget.
    • Embrace US Commercial stakeholder requests to minimize risk to the organization provided that the solutions are considerate of the resources required and the priorities and bandwidth of the Compliance Operations team.

    This person must also:

    • Effectively represent US Commercial Compliance Leadership Team with OEC, BTS, Quality TA&O leadership and US Commercial and QA Senior leaders. Provide guidance on day-to-day compliance training questions and required certifications as outlined in company SOPs.
    • Leading, coaching and developing a team to execute against the key responsibilities of the department as indicated above.
    • Demonstrates a passion for driving excellence, with a focus on mitigating risk, building productive training experiences, enhancing agility through streamlining requirements and demonstrating accountability within self, direct reports, the US Commercial Compliance team, Performance Operations, TA&O and all cross functional stakeholders
    Qualifications


    Basic:

    • Bachelor's degree required. A technical degree or a degree in business or related field is acceptable if combined with relevant training and experiences.
    • People leadership experience
    • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products specifically: 8-15 years' experience in pharmaceutical / healthcare environment with demonstrated success in compliance, training or related functions.
    • Strategic thinking & business planning skills, necessary to diagnose needs, develop, direct, and influence commercial executional excellence focused on reducing risk for the US Commercial business and AbbVie while creating efficiencies.
    • Project management experience, managing cross-functional teams and/or external partners/suppliers through large projects or initiatives.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in digital learning, compliance training, or compliance operations.
    • Knowledge of LMS systems and processes or experience in building or delivering compliance training curricula
    • Experience in negotiations with compliance professionals and influencing without authority within cross functional teams responsible for adhering, monitoring and executing against policies and procedures in the pharmaceutical business.
