FOIA - Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Washington, DC - United Software Group

Description

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations, specifically applying exemptions b(4), b(5), and b(6).

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, review, and analyze new and backlogged FOIA requests
Draft response letters and other FOIA correspondence
Communicate and initiate negotiations with requesters and sponsors regarding records requested and associated information to be released
Serve as a liaison with requesters and coordinate searches for responsive documents
Review program records for responsiveness and offer release determinations

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to work independently
Regulatory agency experience preferred, experience using Secure Release

Deliverables:

Weekly Metrics Report

Education: Minimum Associates Degree; BA/BS preferred.
