    Position Summary:

    The Principal Integrity Regulatory Specialist will report to the Director of Integrity Management and take an active role in managing the several operators asset integrity programs throughout the oil and gas industry. This individual will possess a comprehensive understanding of the complex regulatory landscape and ensure that operators stay abreast of emerging requirements and incorporate these changes into policies and procedures. The successful candidate should feel comfortable making interpretations of code and engaging directly with clients and regulatory agencies to communicate those positions. They will also play a key role in the continuous improvement of internal processes and client deliverables to ensure they align with industry leading practices.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide clear, well-substantiated and implementable interpretations of 49 CFR 192 and 195
    • Support clients in the implementation of their integrity management programs.
    • Conduct periodic reviews for integrity program effectiveness.
    • Coordinate with clients to create a records inventory, catalogue materials and conduct a gap analysis to assess for any deficiencies or potential noncompliance.
    • Assist in the standardization of service offerings, developing replicable procedures and forms.
    • Review jurisdictional analyses.
    • Maintain ongoing and active communication with clients.
    • Provide audit and regulatory support.
    • Assist in Integrity Management manual revisions and updates.
    • Support business development activities
    • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Assist in other work areas and perform all other related duties or projects, as needed, and directed.

    Knowledge, Skills, abilities, and Other Personal Characteristics:

    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and State DOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials regulations.
    • Advanced understanding of ASME B31.8 and API 1160 and related industry standards.
    • Some working knowledge of GIS preferable.
    • Ability to develop, implement and maintain integrity management programs.
    • Self-directed, resourceful, with the ability to problem solve in an effective and timely manner.
    • Organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, while maintaining strong documentation throughout their process
    • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills with ability to professionally communicate effectively with a high level of discretion.
    • Follows policies and procedures; Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; Supports organization's goals and values.
    • Willingness to ask for assistance and communicate when there is a concern, questions, or issues.
    • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
    • Ability to use various computer systems, especially Microsoft Office, with high levels of proficiency.
    • Commitment to completing work within established time parameters and flexible enough to meet special project deadlines as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Ability to work in a team environment.
    • Bachelors degree in engineering (or related discipline)
    • 7+ years oil & gas experience with an emphasis placed on integrity management.
    • Some travel required.

    Desired but not Required:

    • Experience working in Integrity Management for a pipeline operator.
    • Experience working as an auditor for a state or federal pipeline regulatory agency.
    • Understanding of PODS, UPDM, APDM, and other pipeline data models preferred

    Environment:

    The employee will work predominantly in an office environment, utilizing standard office and computing equipment. Standard work hours.

    The employee will be required to attend the Cypresswood office located in Houston a minimum of 3 times a week.

    The employee will be required to support video teleconferencing when applicable, as well as attend teleconference meetings originating in other time zones, which may occur outside normal working hours. The employee will interface with remote employees, requiring reliance on email and phone communications.
