    Avera is currently seeking Nurse Practitioner (NP) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera's patient-focused settings.

    Job Summary
    • Provides a full range of psychiatry, behavioral health services and consultation services to patients at the clinic and hospital.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
    • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
    Education and/or Experience
    • Master's Degree is required.
    • Graduate of an accredited Professional Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
    • Experience (clinical or actual) in Psychiatry.
    • 6 months - 1 year of experience is required.
    • 3-5 years related experience and/or training is preferred.
    • Preferred candidates will have clinical experience in the acute and/or ambulatory psychiatric setting.
    • Preferred candidates will also have experience working with clients having co-occurring addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health conditions.
    Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Current SD Nurse Practitioner License
    Work Schedule
    • Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
      • 8:00am - 5:00 pm
      • Every 3rd weekend
      • Every 3rd holiday
      • Occasional call time
